Drop-Off Submission Information

We’re excited to offer our users the option to drop off their consignments at our booth. Whether you’ve already been preparing a new COMC submission or plan to consign cards you find at the show, save the cost of shipping by dropping off your submissions directly with COMC! Our team at the National will be accepting submissions for all our consignment services:

  • Elite
  • Select
  • Standard
  • Direct To Grading
  • eBay Auctions
  • Fresh Pulls

Please carefully read the instructions below for best practices for prepping your consignments for drop-off:

1) All submissions must have complete and accurate printed paperwork by using our Submission Wizard. To speed up the drop-off process, please pack your items securely for shipment and print your submission paperwork in advance. Be sure to select the Drop Off @ Rosemont, IL – National Sports Collectors Convention option within the Submission Wizard as shown below:

2) Ensure your submission is packed properly and securely. We strongly recommend using one-row boxes for your submissions instead of multi-row boxes (such as 660 or 800-count boxes). Please, no loose card submissions, or submissions in boxes not intended for trading cards. COMC will not be providing boxes for card submissions.

3) The cut-off time for accepting submissions at all events is one hour before the show ends each day.

4) Please allow up to 7-10 days for consignments submitted at the event to reach our Redmond, WA facility. Your submissions from the event will be entered into your account and begin processing during that time period following the event.

5) If you plan to drop off a submission of 3,000 or more raw cards, or 300 or more graded cards at the event, please contact staff@comc.com prior to the event for approval. Large submissions of 3,000 raw cards or 300 graded cards may require additional coordination and will not be accepted without approval.

Minimum submission quantities and add-on fees still apply for drop-off submissions. Please review our COMC Selling Rates page for more information.

We will have computer stations with printers set up for consignors to use at the show. These stations often get busy during peak show hours, so we encourage you to print your submission slips in advance to make your drop-off process quick and easy!

COMC @ The National Sports Collector’s Convention 2016 Recap

Hello, COMC Nation!

What a whirlwind the last two weeks have been! It goes without saying that this year was by far the BEST National Sports Collector’s Convention yet for COMC. This year we saw eight COMC staff members make the cross-country trek to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the 37th Annual National Convention. This year COMC had a booth in the corporate area with the likes of Upper Deck, Panini and Topps.

Over the course of our five days at the convention, we met with hundreds of members of the COMC Nation who shared their thoughts, suggestions, and feedback with our staff! We also provided nearly two thousand 300-count boxes for collectors to fill up at the hundreds of booths around us. Even though we opted not to run a National Convention processing special this year, we accepted nearly a thousand pounds’ worth of consignment submissions. That’s a staggering amount of cards!

IMG_4715

Tim and Steve share a laugh with a long-time COMC consignor

In lieu of a processing special, this year we opted to run daily store credit giveaway drawings three times a day for a total of $400 a day, as well as a Grand Prize drawing of $500 at the conclusion of the Convention! All those in attendance at The National who had a COMC account were eligible to enter, and those who didn’t have a COMC account…well, let’s just say a lot of accounts were created! We ran four computer stations at our booth for convention-goers to browse the COMC marketplace, sign up for or manage their accounts, and even print their submission paperwork on the spot.

In their admittedly sparse downtime, our team was able to enjoy the sights and sounds of Atlantic City at night. Under the hot summer sun, they toured the Boardwalk, enjoyed popular local restaurants such as Kelsey’s (Soul & Comfort) and Angelo’s (Italian), and tried their luck at the local casinos!

We want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth and contributed in making this year’s experience at The National the best one yet. We’ll be back next year in Chicago from July 26th-30th, 2017 for another great convention, and we hope that you’ll consider heading to the Windy City with us! No matter what you collect, there is nothing quite like the experience that is the Sports Collector’s Convention.

COMC: Live from booth 648

Yesterday our team landed, set up our booth, and have already been meeting and greeting the fine people who consider themselves part of COMC Nation. We know we will continue to have many great conversations over the next few days with people attending the National. But we cannot have and provide the best National experience without your help.

imagejpeg_0_2

While Geoff, Jim, Grant, and Steve spend some of the day roaming and reaching out to those at the show, we ask that you stop by booth 648 to talk and chat with us as well. At the booth, you can also schedule time to meet with Tim. You can also get this scheduled by emailing us at timewithtim@comc.com.

So stop by, drop off cards you wish to consign, and pick up a COMC Scratch Card Redemption. The prizes range from $3 off of shipping or $5, $10, $50, or even $100 of store credit. All scratch tickets at the National are guaranteed winners, and can be used on our new COMC Redemption page.

For those who are not attending the National, you will not be left out. Along with the National Processing Special which runs until the end of August, all Standard orders placed on our site, starting August 1st, will have a COMC Scratch Card Redemption included in the order. This will be added to the first 10,000 orders made. While these will not all be winners, it is easy to get another chance to win – place an additional order!

Last but not least, we want to thank our buyers and our sellers for helping us be the safe and easy way to buy and sell online. Have a great day!

COMC National Special

Hello COMC Nation!

The National Sports Collectors Convention is right around the corner, so we know you all have been waiting with anticipation. As is our time honored tradition, the National brings with it a COMC Promotion, generally one with a repeating number theme. This year is no exception.

There is no need to wait any longer. Now that the details have all been hammered out, we’re ready to share them with you! We wanted to do something special for all of the people who use our site – our buyers and sellers. We’ve found that one great way to make buyers happy is to provide the best selection of items. And one great way to make sellers happy is to provide them with happy buyers.

So this year we’re trying something new. At the National we are going to be handing out coupons with scratch tickets with prizes ranging from $3 off shipping, to $5 or $10 of COMC store credit.

National redemption card_ScratchSide

Some coupons will even have a secret multiplier to add even more credit to the account when redeemed. For those who can’t make it to the National, don’t worry because we will be adding these coupons to the first 10,000 packages we ship out starting August 1st.

And to make sure that buyers have the best selection of cards to choose from, we’re offering a National Processing Special. Instead of dropping out the floor of our Basic processing service, we’re offering a service to help get better cards up sooner.

3 Week, 300 ct box, 30¢ per card.

Untitled

If you don’t have a 300 count box, measure out a single row of cards that’s 5 inches long.

The special will start on July 17th.

Orders mailed in must be postmarked by August 31st.

Use the Submission Wizard to notify us of the submission.

Limit ONE 300 count box per person.

Single row, no jammed in minis, nothing in the sides or laid on top.

These cards will be processed with a 3 week due date.

Items sent in using the National Special will not be subject to the $0.50 Item Upgrade fees for pricing a card over $50.

There will be a $3 minimum charge for the National Special. This will be charged if you send ten or fewer cards.

Packages that are sent in for the National Special, but do not meet these guidelines, will be processed at our Basic service level.

For those of you who will be in Chicago for the National, you can drop your cards off at the COMC Booth to avoid any of those extra shipping costs. We’ll be booth 648. Our friends in Canada can also take advantage of this special by sending their submissions to our office in Burnaby.

Update: 7/17

We have updated the following information in the post above.

You can start submitting items for the National Special – the submission wizard has been updated.

There is a minimum batch size of 10 cards for the National Special. Batches of 10 or fewer cards will be charged $3.

We have clarified that items submitted with the National Special will not have the $0.50 item upgrade if priced above $50.

Live from The National

Hi COMC Nation! Moe here, from the floor of the 35th National Sports Collectors Convention – it’s been a whirlwind few days in Cleveland and we’ve been super busy meeting and greeting so many members of the COMC Nation.

Moe! Get off the ferris wheel!

We’re in town for 2 more days and we want to see as many members of the COMC Nation as possible, so drop by booth #459 and say hello, drop off your cards (we’re accepting submissions for the National special all weekend!), and remember to ask for the signup sheet for your free 1000 History Points.

Don’t think we forgot those of you who can’t make it to Cleveland this year – just share this blog post on Facebook and we’ll give you 1000 History Points, too! (Please include your COMC Username when you share the post. Doing so will make it easier for us to award you your points.)

Cleveland or Bust!

Hello COMC Nation! It’s almost here – the 35th annual National Sports Collectors Convention is just around the corner and we’re pretty excited to see as many people as we can during the week. We’ve got a few, last-minute announcements to make before we head to the airport, that we wanted to share with everyone.

We are accepting submissions!

It’s not a big surprise, sure, but we wanted to assure everyone that we will be accepting card submissions in Cleveland, including cards/boxes that qualify for this year’s “Lucky 7” National Special. We’ll have our computers set up and our team will be able to walk you through the submission process – why carry those boxes of cards around when you can drop them off with us, right?

Free History Points!

With fewer COMC Challenges available, we know it’s been harder for members of the COMC Nation to earn history points – but, if you drop by our booth (#459 in the Corporate Area) and say “Hello!” (Or “Hi!”, or “What’s up?”…we’re flexible), we’ll have a sign up sheet where you can write down your COMC username and earn 1000 points…just for being social. Doesn’t get much easier than that, right?

Suggested List Prices

This has been such a hot button topic for awhile now…the COMC Suggested List Price Feature. Tim first introduced it at the Industry Summit in Las Vegas, last March.

We’re ready to introduce a beta version of the Suggested List Pricing Feature in time for the National show, and we’ll be giving demonstrations of how this great, new feature will work for our users. Be sure to drop by and see how we’re ready to shape the future of the hobby.

Note: As of Monday afternoon, Tim started running the code that activates the SLP feature, and some of our users will notice that the asking prices on some of their cards have been deleted, as a result. We apologize for any inconvenience in this.

Shift in Customer Service Capacity

Since Steve and Moe are going to Cleveland this year, we’re leaving Norbert to occupy the COMC Customer Service office by himself for 4 days. We’re pretty confident that Norbert is up to the challenge, but if you get our voice mail or a slower than usual response to your email, please be patient – For a few days, Norbert’s going to be busier than a 1-eyed cat watching 2 mouse holes.

A new member of the COMC Social Media family

It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve finally got our Instagram account up and running – you can follow us for all kinds of great and occasionally candid pics of the COMC team, in Cleveland and after! And, as well, you can also check out our Facebook and Twitter for #NSCC2014 updates all week long!

Meet the COMC Crew at the National Show in Cleveland

Hello COMC Nation! We don’t know about you, but we’re getting pretty excited about the upcoming National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland. We’re getting everything ready for this trip and we’re looking forward to meeting and talking to as many people as we can. Just to let you know, we’re going to be at Booth #459 in the “Corporate Area”, so be sure to drop by and say hello.

In years past, Tim’s made the time to sit down and speak to people, one-on-one. We wanted to let you know that if you wish to schedule a meeting with our fearless leader, please send an email to timewithtim@comc.com.

When can we pencil you in? Let us know!

When can we pencil you in? Let us know!

We’ll be scheduling meetings at the top of each hour, except noon (we love talking to folks, but lunch is nice, too) on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Meetings will be slated for approximately 30 minutes, give or take depending on the topics.

If you want to talk about COMC, the hobby in general, or anything else that’s on your mind, please send us an email with the topics you wish to discuss, and 2-3 possible meeting times that work best for you.  We ask that you have your requests in no later than Thursday, July 24th – after that we’ll get back to you with your scheduled “Time with Tim”.

And, as always, stayed tuned for the latest news and developments at our FacebookTwitter, and Google+ pages.
