COMC at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Atlantic City, NJ: July 27–31

COMC is excited to announce our presence at this year’s 42nd National Sports Collectors Convention in Atlantic City, NJ. Whether you’re new to COMC or a long-time user, be sure to come by our booth and say “Hello”! For more information about the show itself, please visit NSCCShow.com.

The convention will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Wednesday, July 27th through Sunday, July 31st in Atlantic City, NJ. COMC will have a team of employees on hand in the corporate area at Booth #1240 to accept consignment submissions and to answer any and all questions about COMC!

Where to Find COMC at the Show

COMC will be in the heart of the showroom floor within the Corporate Pavilion at Booth #1240, where we will be neighbors with Piece of the Game, Pristine Auction, and Onyx!

Submission Promotion

Take advantage of this event-only promotion to submit your items at the National using our Elite and Select services at a reduced price. If you have been waiting for a discount on submissions, now is your chance to save BIG!

The National Elite & Select Submission Promotion Discount Requirements

Take 40% off Elite & 30% off Select submissions this year for items submitted onsite at the National between Wednesday, July 27th and Sunday, July 31st!

  • Elite: write “ELITE40” on each Elite submission paperwork slip to receive 40% off your Elite submission’s total processing fee—normally $2.00/card, now $1.20/card! There is no Elite submission minimum.
  • Select: write “SELECT30” on each Select submission slip to receive 30% off your Select submission’s total processing fee—normally $1.00/card, now $0.70/card! Select submissions must contain a minimum of 10 cards.

Which Cards Are Best for Elite?

The Elite service is intended for raw and graded single trading cards with a sale value of more than $50. Elite items are guaranteed a 2-week turnaround time and are eligible to list at auction on eBay at any time.

Important Promotion Information

  • This discount does stack with other promotions: discounts such as eligible Fresh Pulls products can be combined with the discounts for this promotion!
  • The discount does not apply to the Mailbox package fee, toploader removal fee, or the missing/incorrect paperwork fee.
  • There is no maximum quantity limit; submit as many cards as you would like!
  • Items submitted to the Select service level are not eligible to be listed at auction on eBay; please use Elite processing for cards that you may want to list at auction.
  • For Select items, cards that need to be removed from a protective holder (e.g. toploader, pages, card saver, one-touch) incur an additional $0.50 processing add-on fee. There is no additional charge for cards submitted in penny sleeves per item.
  • For Select items, third-party graded cards and cards encased with a manufacturer seal incur an additional $0.50 processing add-on fee per item.
  • For Select and Elite items, oversized cards larger than 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ (modern size), 2 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ (vintage size), coins, and comic books incur an additional $3.00 processing add-on fee per item.

Important Submission Reminders

  • Each submission slip must have handwritten codes on the submission paperwork to qualify. There are no exceptions, and submissions without handwritten codes will not be eligible for a retroactive promotional discount.
  • Non-elite items submitted for reprocessing through the Elite service are not eligible for the discount.
  • Our mail-in submission services in the United States and Canadian offices are not eligible for this promotion.
  • Items must be submitted onsite at the National between, Wednesday, July 27th through Sunday, July 31st in order to be eligible for the promotion discounts.

Drop-Off Submission Information

We’re excited to offer our users the option to drop off their consignments at our booth. Whether you’ve already been preparing a new COMC submission or plan to consign cards you find at the show, save the cost of shipping by dropping off your submissions directly with COMC! Our team at the National will be accepting submissions for the following consignment services:

  • Elite
  • Fresh Pulls
  • eBay Auctions
  • Select
  • Standard

Minimum submission quantities and add-on fees still apply for drop-off submissions. Please review our COMC Selling Rates page for more information.

To speed up the drop-off process, please pack your items securely for shipment and print your submission paperwork in advance. Be sure to select the Drop Off @ Atlantic City. NJ – National Sports Collectors Convention option within the Submission Wizard as shown below:

We will have computer stations with printers set up for consignors to use at the show. These stations often get busy during peak show hours, so we encourage you to print your submission slips in advance to make your drop-off process quick and easy!

Time with Tim

COMC Founder and CEO Tim Getsch is looking forward to meeting with our users as well as members of the trading card community to hear their feedback, ideas, and experiences they’ve had with our services.

In your email please include the dates and times you are available to meet, as well as a short list of the topics you wish to discuss. eBay Homepage Auctions Event: The NBA is Back!

COMC Auctions headlining the eBay Homepage

August 10th – 16th!

Following the success of June’s eBay Auctions event, we are excited to announce that COMC Auctions will be featured on eBay’s homepage from August 10th – 16th. This is the perfect opportunity to greatly increase the visibility of your auction consignments!

The focus of this event will be basketball as the NBA resumes their 2019-20 season, but high-end trading cards from all sports and genres are welcome for this event! Premier League Soccer has resumed play, and the MLB is starting their 60 game season in July.

Items must be received by 7/31 to be eligible for this promotion.

Here’s everything you need to know about submitting your sports cards for maximum exposure in this event.

When and how to submit your cards:

COMC users have multiple options for submitting cards for this event. Whether you already have cards consigned with us which you’d like to auction off, or you are considering sending new cards specifically for this event, details and key dates are listed below:

Mail-In Submission Deadlines

Cards received 7/18 – 7/24 will END during the promotion
Cards received 7/25 – 7/31 will BEGIN during the promotion

To create a new mail-in auctions submission, visit “Start New Submission” in your COMC Account and select the “eBay Auction” processing service as shown below.

Transfer to Auction Deadlines

Cards submitted for transfer 7/17 – 7/23 will END during the promotion
Cards submitted for transfer 7/24 – 7/30 will BEGIN during the promotion

If you already have cards in your COMC Inventory Manager, you can send them to auction in just a few clicks. This includes cards you bought from other consignors on our site! Right click on “Actions” and then select “Send to Auction” to begin the auction transfer process.

Important Auctions Reminders

As you consider participating in this exciting auctions event, there are a few key reminders we’d like to share:

  • The minimum fee per auction, regardless of the final sale price, is $3.50. For the best possible experience, we do not recommend you submit cards to auction which will not reach a final sale price of $20 or more.
  • There are no cancellations once we receive your auction submission.

eBay Homepage Auctions Event! Inserts & Parallels

COMC Auctions headlining the eBay Homepage June 15th – June 21st!

Inserts and Parallels have been making a big splash in the sports card markets. Some of them newly created, and some a depiction of past inserts. This Auction Event is themed around this current trend, so don’t miss this opportunity to get additional exposure for your unique cards!

Net Marvels

Marvels Inserts are taking off! Previously, this Marvel LeBron James card was valued and selling for less than $5.00. Prices over the past few months have soared to over $250.00!
The Marvel set as a whole is highly collectible, so what better time to send them to COMC Auction? Get your submissions in now to ensure they arrive in time for the event!

Prizm Baseball

Prizm baseball is on the rise. Take a look at the 2012 Prizm Mike Trout Rookie #50 for example. This was selling for less than $10 over 2 months ago.
The current market value has surpassed the $100 mark and is consistently hitting close to $120. With a 1000% increase in price, now is a great time to send in your Prizm Inserts & Parallels!

2016 Optic Holos

Optic Holos have been on fire in the marketplace. Here we see the 2016 Optic Holo Tom Brady. Prior to the surge, this card was selling for roughly $5-10. Now, prices are anywhere from $140-160!
The Optic Holo price jumps are not limited to just football; basketball is also seeing huge increases. Get all your Optic Holos in now!

The winds of change are blowing! Last month, we published out 2018 Spring BGS Service Update which included the news that we’re rolling out a new 3 week expedited service. The early results are in, and this service is quite popular among COMC users!

All we can say is “WOW!” We are seeing a record amount of BGS Submissions return on a monthly basis. 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey remains an overwhelming favorite,  as this months returns saw tons of gem mint Young Guns. The calendar has turned yet again which means it’s time for a fresh installment of Check Out Your Grades! In this monthly series, we share our favorite items that have been submitted by members of the COMC Nation to BGS Grading via their COMC account . February was one of the busiest months that we’ve ever seen for grading returns! Last month, owners of items from the recently released Upper Deck ePack sets such as 2017 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions and 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey sets saw their grading submissions returned in abundance.
