COMC is Headed to the Burbank Card Show in Anaheim, CA: August 31–September 3

COMC is excited to announce our presence at this year’s Burbank Show in Anaheim, CA. Whether you’re new to COMC or a long-time user, be sure to come by our booth and say “Hello”!

The Burbank Card Show is a highly anticipated event in the world of sports cards and collectibles. The show provides a unique opportunity for collectors to browse through rare and valuable cards, engage in trading activities, and discover autographed memorabilia and other sought-after collectibles. With its dynamic atmosphere and an abundance of treasures waiting to be discovered, the Burbank Card Show promises an unforgettable experience for all sports card enthusiasts.

Accepting All Submission Levels

COMC will be accepting local drop-off submissions at the show. We will be accepting submissions using all our service levels.

Please have your submission paperwork completed in advance and included with your card submission.

The Burbank Card Show Submission Promotion Discount Requirements

Take 50% Off Graded Elite, Select, and Standard submissions for items submitted onsite at the Burbank Card Show between Thursday, August 31st, and September 3rd!

Graded Card Submission discount applies to graded sports, non-sports, and TCG cards only, graded by a supported third-party grading company. 

Discount does not apply to raw cards, ungraded cards, or to uncirculated/encased, RCR, or factory-sealed toploaders. The discount also does not apply to third-party grading submission fees.

Write “SLAB50” on each submission paperwork slip to receive 50% off your graded submission’s total processing fee.

  • Cards must be provided to COMC securely packed. eg: In graded card boxes or BCW 300-800 count boxes. Submissions NOT properly packaged will be refused.
  • Please Note: COMC will NOT be accepting on-site drop offs for Comic Books. Raw or Graded.
  • Discount does not apply to raw cards, ungraded cards, or to uncirculated/encased, RCR, or factory-sealed toploaders.
  • The discount also does not apply to third-party grading submission fees.

Important Promotion Information

  • This discount does stack with other promotions: discounts such as eligible Fresh Pulls products can be combined with the discounts for this promotion!
  • The discount does not apply to the Mailbox package fee, toploader removal fee, or the missing/incorrect paperwork fee.

The savings don’t stop there! Take 50% off all cards submitted to our new Direct To Grading service level. Normally, $1 per card, now only $0.50. This one-week service is for cards you want to send directly to one of our grading partners. 

  • Write “SLAB50” on each submission paperwork slip to receive 50% off your Direct to Grading submission’s total processing fee. Maximum 300 Direct to Grading submission items (per user).
  • Maximum 150 total graded cards in submissions (per user, not per service level).

  • Each submission slip must have handwritten codes on the submission paperwork to qualify. There are no exceptions, and submissions without handwritten codes will not be eligible for a retroactive promotional discount.

The convention will be held at the Westchester County Center from Friday, August 18th through Sunday, August 20th in White Plains, NY. COMC will have a team of employees on hand to accept consignment submissions and answer any and all questions about COMC!

The convention will be held at the Seattle Convention Center from Thursday, August 18th through Sunday, August 21st in Seattle, WA. COMC will have a team of employees on hand in the corporate area at Booth #215 to accept consignment submissions and to answer any and all questions about COMC!

Emerald City Comic Con Submission Promotion and Discount Requirements

Take advantage of this event-only promotion to submit your items at the Emerald City Comic Con using our Elite and Select services at a reduced price. If you have been waiting for a discount on submissions, now is your chance to save BIG: 40% off Elite & 30% off Select submissions for items submitted onsite between Thursday, August 18th and Sunday, August 21st!

  • Elite: write “ELITE40” on each Elite submission paperwork slip to receive 40% off your Elite submission’s total processing fee—normally $2.00/card, now $1.20/card! (There is no Elite submission minimum.)
  • Select: write “SELECT30” on each Select submission slip to receive 30% off your Select submission’s total processing fee—normally $1.00/card, now $0.70/card! (Select submissions must contain a minimum of 10 cards.)
  • This promotion only applies to Pokémon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Marvel TCG, and Marvel cards. The discount does not apply to any comics and/or other TCG cards not listed.

Which Cards Are Best for Elite?

The Elite service is intended for raw and graded single trading cards with a sale value of more than $50. Elite items are guaranteed a 2-week turnaround time and are eligible to list at auction on eBay at any time.

Important Promotion Information

  • This discount does stack with other promotions: discounts such as eligible Fresh Pulls products can be combined with the discounts for this promotion!
  • The discount does not apply to the Mailbox package fee, toploader removal fee, or the missing/incorrect paperwork fee.
  • There is no maximum quantity limit; submit as many cards as you would like!
  • Items submitted to the Select service level are not eligible to be listed at auction on eBay; please use Elite processing for cards that you may want to list at auction.
  • For Select items, cards that need to be removed from protective holder (e.g. toploaders, pages, card savers, one-touches) incur an additional $0.50 processing add-on fee. There is no additional charge for cards submitted in penny sleeves per item.
  • For Select items, third-party graded cards and cards encased with a manufacturer seal incur an additional $0.50 processing add-on fee per item.
  • For Select and Elite items, oversized cards larger than 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ (modern size), 2 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ (vintage size), coins, and comic books incur an additional $3.00 processing add-on fee per item.

The Hunt is OVER! Item #50,000,000 Has Been Found!

The Hunt is OVER! COMC Acquires Card #50,000,000 From ePack/COMC Member!

#50000000 – 2017-18 Upper Deck – [Base] – Silver Foil #376 Chris Kreider

Earlier this year we put out a call to action asking for YOUR help in helping us secure a very important milestone card in COMC history. That item was the 50-millionth item processed by COMC in our 10+ year history and just so happened to be an ePack card from the 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey Set.

It took almost four months to the day, but one lucky COMC member has answered the call and claimed the $1,000 reward that we placed upon this item. Alex B. (COMC username loki__101) from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was the lucky individual who randomly received the assigned item number of  50,000,000 when he combined 10 digital Chris Kreider base cards from the 2017-18 Series 2 Hockey Set into one physical silver foil card on ePack and transferred it to their COMC account. Alex promptly contacted our Customer Service Team to claim the reward and was gracious enough to answer a few questions for our blog!

How long have been collecting, and what do you collect?

“I collect hockey cards. I used to collect a lot as a kid and didn’t pick it back up until a few years ago (2015-16 season).”

Who are some of your favorite players?

“I am die hard Oilers fan, so of the current team McDavid and Draisaitl are my favorites. I’m also a sucker for goalies so Cujo and Bill Ranford are two of my all-time favorites.”

Do you have a favorite card in your collection?

“Growing up I was proud of my Forsberg rookie card, before he was traded in the Lindros deal. He still has a Flyers jersey on.”

Were you actively hunting for item #50,000,000, or did you come across it without much effort?

“I had bought some boxes on ePack (9-10 I think) and was really close to getting a silver foil for all of the base set. It took my a while to get the last Krieder due to its high demand. I admit I was crossing my fingers when I transferred it over to COMC and did a double take when I saw the number.”

What do you like about Upper Deck ePack?

“Its an easy was to collect, especially if you like the idea of collecting but don’t want / need to have the physical card right there. The ability to have a community for trading is also convenient.”

What do you primarily use COMC for?

“I do use it mainly for selling cards (not many). Also browsing to see what is available.”

Do you have any advice for those who use ePack or COMC?

“Find what you like and stick to it – be it a player, team etc. You’ll have more fun that way.”

We recently added item number 50,000,000 to our catalog, a monumental achievement for our team. The 50 millionth item cataloged just happens to be a card from the recently released 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey ePack set. The set went live on the ePack website yesterday to the delight of collectors!

The 50 millionth card added to our catalog is this 2017-18 Upper Deck – Silver Foil #376 Chris Kreider card

Silver foil cards can be acquired on the ePack website through combining 10 copies of the digital base card together. When an ePack member does this, the 10 digital base cards are removed from their account and they are given one physical silver foil parallel of the combined cards.  Once a silver foil card has been acquired on the ePack website, it can be transferred to its owner’s COMC account where a COMC item number will be assigned to the item.

How YOU can help us acquire item #50,000,000:

  1. Acquire 10 copies of card #376 Chris Kreider from the 2017-18 Upper Deck Series 2 Hockey set on the ePack website via opening packs of UD Series 2 Hockey or trading with other ePack users for the card.
  2. Combine those 10 copies of #376 Chris Kreider on ePack to receive one silver foil parallel version.
  3. Transfer the silver foil #376 Chris Kreider to your COMC account. Click here for ePack’s tutorial on how to transfer items from your ePack account to your COMC account.
  4. Locate the transferred item within your COMC inventory manager and check the item number.
  5. If your Silver Foil #376 Chris Kreider is item number 50,000,000 you are our Grand Prize Winner! Contact us via email, Facebook, Twitter or a blog comment and let us know that you have item #50,000,000 in your possession!

2017-18 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey ePack Box Break!

Last week we were treated to the release of 2017-18 Upper Deck Series One Hockey on the ePack platform! Upper Deck’s flagship hockey set is a perennial favorite best known for it’s Young Guns rookie card inserts.

What better way to celebrate the release of this set than to feature it In our ongoing COMC Breaks series. In this video, we bust a full box of 24 packs in search of coveted Young Guns rookie cards of Brock Boeser, Nico Hischier and Charlie McAvoy among others.

We here at COMC just want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very joyous Holiday Season and a very Happy New Year!

2017 was a great year for trading cards and collectibles as the bats of baseball rookies such as Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger ignited interest in long time collectors as well as new and returning collectors alike. As the summer wound down, we saw the meteoric rise of basketball superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Ben Simmons generate excitement in the new basketball products like Optic, Prizm and Select. ePack items continued to find an increased presence on the COMC marketplace as Fleer Ultra Spider-Man and Team Canada Juniors gained popularity among collectors.

With 2018 right around the corner, we’re more excited and passionate than ever about the future of the hobby that we all love so much. Until next time, Happy New Year!

 

 

COMC at the 2017 Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer Conference

Hello, COMC Nation!

We hope that you had a fantastic Holiday Season and a Happy New Year! We already have our bags packed and are ready for the first stop on our 2017 schedule. Up first will be the 2017 Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on January 11th and 12th. If you own a hobby shop and are an Upper Deck Certified Diamond Dealer then be sure to join us at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix Hotel!

COMC will be in attendance with our own booth set up for both days of the conference. We will be available both days to meet with hobby shop owners to discuss how COMC can help their shops become more successful. We’ll have a booth set up to be able to help dealers set up and manage their accounts, offer demonstrations of our service, and answer any and all questions they may have about our service.

If you will be in attendance at the event and would like to drop off consignment submissions, we will be accepting submissions at our booth on both days as well. We look forward to seeing you there!
