Sell High-Value Cards with Maximum Exposure
Marquee Auctions are special eBay auction windows where high-value cards run for 7 days with no reserve, attracting collectors ready to compete. Backed by COMC’s partnership with eBay, these listings receive added exposure beyond standard auctions.
Key benefits include:
- Brings in serious collectors — These auctions attract buyers who are actively chasing high-value cards.
- More eyes on your cards — Listings are featured during marquee windows on eBay, giving them a visibility boost over standard auctions.
- Drives competitive bidding — With 7-day, no-reserve auctions and an engaged audience, bidding momentum can build right up to the finish.
Upcoming Marquee Auction Events
To participate in Marquee Auction Events, there are some standard eligibility requirements and policies:
Card Eligibility
- Value threshold: Cards must meet a minimum eligible value (commonly $1,000+ for marquee events).
- Elite status: Only items processed through COMC’s Elite consignment service may be transferred into these marquee auctions.
Fees & Auction Standards
- COMC auction fees still apply: typically 5% of the final sale price with a minimum fee (e.g., $5 per item).
- Auctions run for 7 days and traditionally start at $0.99 with no reserve price.
- No cancellations are permitted once an item is submitted to a marquee event.
Transfer & Submission Basics
- Cards already in your COMC Inventory Manager can be sent to auction through the Send to Auction interface.
- Select the appropriate Marquee Auction Event option when transferring.
- Once transferred, items are locked in your Inventory Manager and can be monitored via your Auction History page.
- Choose the Right Cards: Marquee Auction Events are best for cards likely to exceed the minimum value — focusing on premium graded cards or rare raw singles can maximize return.
- Don’t Delay Transfers: Elite processing takes time. If a card isn’t already Elite, submit it for reprocessing early enough before the transfer deadline.
- Understand the Fees: Knowing fee structures and expectations helps you price listings and plan inventory movement profitably.
Can I cancel a card once it’s entered into a Marquee Auction?
No. Once an item is submitted to auction, cancellations are not allowed.
Do cards unsold in the event come back to my inventory?
Generally, unsold items from themed auction events return to your COMC account if they do not sell. Refer to the Auctions FAQ for details.
Are there other eBay auction types?
Yes — COMC also supports Live Auctions (eBay Live) and various auction formats beyond marquee events. Visit COMC’s Auctions documentation or support for full details.
