Our goal is to create an all-inclusive environment for those using our service so collectors from all walks of life feel welcomed on COMC. We established the COMC Family Friendly Content Policy and Committee to ensure offensive and mature-content material does not reach our marketplace.
The following policies go into effect on January 1st, 2019.
Subjectivity
We recognize the following Family Friendly guidelines require a certain amount of subjectivity to enforce. If you do have questions related to acceptable content, the Family Friendly Committee is here to help. Please send your questions to familyfriendly@comc.com. When submitting requests on specific items you want to consign, we recommend including photographs to help us provide an accurate assessment.
Hateful Content
Items that promote racism, discrimination, or humiliation towards an individual or group of people based on race, creed, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity will not be allowed to be sold on the COMC Marketplace.
Sexually Suggestive Content
COMC has a zero-tolerance policy for items featuring nudity (exposed genitalia). Items featuring subjects in revealing clothing, in highly sexualized poses or situations, or any other sexually themed content not within the constraints of a competitive sporting event will be subject for review.
Violent Content
Items where the primary focus is on blood, gratuitous violence, or detailed bodily harm or injury are not permitted to be sold on COMC, including items depicting historical and/or fictional violence, which will be subject to review on an item-by-item basis.
Leniency will be given for items featuring violent content within the constraints of competitive sporting events such as MMA and Boxing. Similar consideration will be given for sports entertainment (WWE, Impact Wrestling, etc.) related items, but will be reviewed on an item-by-item basis.
PG-13 Policy: Drug and Alcohol related, Explicit Language, Mature Themes, Controversial Issues and Sensitive Events.
Items sold on the COMC Marketplace should contain content that would be suitable for a current PG-13 movie. Content depicted in some items may not be suitable for younger children. Mature themed item such as non-sports trading cards depicting R-rated movie content will be reviewed on an item-by-item basis.
- Items that promote the use, abuse, or glorification of illegal drugs and/or substances will not allowed to be sold on the COMC Marketplace. Items depicting illegal drugs and/or substances for educational and historical purposes will generally be considered appropriate but may be subject to review.
- Items containing strong profanity or vulgarity will not be accepted.
- Items containing mature themes (i.e. sexual, criminal, exploitation, enslavement, etc.) will be subject for review on an item-by-item basis.
- Items depicting controversial and sensitive topics, issues and events including but not limited to war, terrorism, extremism, death or tragedies, domestic violence, and sexual abuse will be subject for review. Items depicting these scenarios for educational and historical purposes will generally be considered appropriate.
All content found within items submitted for consignment to COMC must adhere to the policies outlined above (e.g., content within comic books that isn’t depicted in the images used to represent the items on COMC is still subject to our Family Friendly Policy).
Please note that items submitted for consignment that violate our Family Friendly Policy will be subject to consignment fees.
