COMC on the Road – Edmonton Recap & Upcoming Shows!

Edmonton1

COMC has been on the road this Spring actively involved in the card show circuit all throughout the U.S. and Canada! We’ve been enjoying spending time face-to-face with our buyers and sellers, accepting consignments and answering any questions that you may have. We’re also happy to report that hundreds of new accounts have been created on COMC by first-time buyers and sellers who are interested and eager to get their COMC experience started!

Our Canadian Processing Facility Manager, Barry, relayed the following after the April 22nd & 23rd Edmonton Summit Show:

“On behalf of the COMC Canada team, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who stopped by our booth. The Edmonton Show exceeded our wildest expectations, and it was just a great group of collectors who attended the show. We helped introduce new customers to the many services offered by COMC. Thank you to everyone who attended the Summit show and made our trip memorable!”

thumbnail_20170330_201318In addition, the COMC Prize Wheel made its anticipated debut at the Edmonton show and was a huge hit, particularly with young collectors. The Grand Prize offered via the Prize Wheel was an entry into a drawing to win a 2015-16 Upper Deck Artifacts #205 Connor McDavid. At the end of the show, it was COMC member Addy272001 who took home the coveted McDavid!

The Prize Wheel will then tour East to Ontario for the Sport Card & Memorabilia Expo on May 5, 6, & 7, where, just by having a COMC account, show attendants can spin to win an entry into our grand prize drawing for a 2016-17 Upper Deck #201 Auston Matthews rookie card, as well as other store credit prizes! Given that at times there were queues to register an account at our booth, we recommend creating an account beforehand to avoid delays if you do not have a COMC account already.

COMC will be located in the corporate area of the matthewsToronto show this year and, as always, we will be accepting submissions! Please use the submission wizard option for Expo drop-offs and package your items well.

Lastly, in addition to the Toronto show in May, representatives from COMC will be on hand to accept submissions at the Twin Oaks show at Mall 205 on April 29th in Portland, OR. We hope to see as many members of the COMC Nation as possible out on the road!

Join us at the Sportcard and Memorabilia Expo in Mississauga

Hello COMC Nation,

The Sportcard & Memorabilia Expo in Mississauga is just around the corner, and we are excited to have a place at the largest hockey card trade show in the world.  COMC will once again be there to accept submissions to save consignors on shipping, offering free giveaways (while supplies last), and answering any questions you may have.  The show, which is running from November 6th through the 8th, is special on a number of different fronts.

What makes this Fall Expo special?

Firstly, this show has been going for 25 years and the Fall Expo marks the 50th show;

Secondly, the 2015 Hockey Hall of Fame induction class of Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Pronger, & Phil Housley will be present as autograph guests;

Thirdly, the show is the launchpad for the release of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey and the first live card of Connor McDavid in an Edmonton Oilers uniform. The hype surrounding Connor McDavid has not been seen since 2005-06 with Sidney Crosby, and COMC would like to help connect people who may be fortunate enough to have his card with those who are seeking to own his card.

To this end, we are offering free premium processing for all Connor McDavid cards featured in an Edmonton Oilers uniform from November 5th (projected release date of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey) through December 31, 2015 (postmarked). This includes redemption cards in 2015-16 MVP Hockey, 2015-16 Artifacts Hockey, and 2015-16 Upper Deck Tim Hortons which trade one for one for a Connor McDavid card, but excludes the 2015-16 MVP Pacific Division.

To make sure your order is processed free of charge, make sure to use the submission wizard from your COMC account to choose this option. As with all premium processing, there is no upgrade fee.  Mailbox submissions or Connor McDavid cards not in an Oilers uniform do not qualify.

COMC Reflection

It’s nearing the end of the year, which is a great time for reflection and contemplation. Looking back on 2014 with all its ups and downs, there is one thing we appreciate most – YOU.  That you’ve had our backs in our most difficult year has been the greatest gift of all.

AuctionsAuction Stock Image

This is exciting.  You have asked us for the ability to do auctions for years. So we are testing this functionality.  We still have a lot of work to do, but we hope to allow you to run your own auctions in the near future.  In the meantime, test out our auctions, pick up some new product, and give us your feedback.

COMC is on the road in April!

With all the exciting things that have been happening at COMC recently – the opening of our Canadian office, the launch of our new service for comics, and some other amazing projects we haven’t even announced yet – we thought it would be a good time for us to go out and spread the word to collectors face-to-face about all these new and wonderful ways to use COMC. It’s time to hit the road!

April is going to be a super busy month for COMC, as we’re attending four great events in April; it’ll be even busier as three of these events are happening on the same weekend! Talk about some intense logistics – our admin staff is going to earn some time off in May. But, never fear! We’re up to the challenge and we’re going to make it happen, in the classic COMC style.

Here’s a breakdown of the shows, and who you can count on meeting when you go:

Edmonton, AB – The Summit Collectibles Show IV – April 20-21
COMC CEO Tim Getsch and Julia Getsch our Director of Business Development will both be in Edmonton, ready and eager to tell you all about what we have in store for the COMC community in the weeks and months ahead. They’ll be accepting card submissions of 5,000 cards per customer all weekend long, giving everyone a chance to take advantage of Canadian Spring Promotion. There’s also going to be plenty of specials and giveaways for show attendees.

Vancouver, BC – Fan Expo – April 20-21
Sam Kassam from our Canadian office will be representing COMC at this star-packed show, one of the biggest comic/pop culture conventions on the West Coast. He’ll be meeting with collectors and anyone else interested to hear about our new comic service. He’ll also be accepting submissions (up to 5000 cards per customer) as part of the Canadian Spring Promotion, as well as answering any questions you may have about COMC.

San Francisco, CA – TRISTAR – April 19-21
COMC is pleased to announce that we will be attending TRISTAR’s Bay Area Classic show for the first time. Senior Account Manager Steve Hollander and Account Manager Norbert Strub will be in attendance, taking submissions of up to 5,000 cards per customer and talking with anyone and everyone.

Vancouver, BC – The Sportcard Collector Show – April 27-28
The second of back-to-back weekend shows in Vancouver will find Sam Kassam and our Shipping Supervisor Geoff Holland manning the booth, ready to discuss all things COMC with new and veteran users alike. And just like the other April shows, submissions of up to 5000 cards will be happily accepted from anyone looking to get their cards in as part of the Canadian Spring Promotion.

2013 has already proven to be an exciting year at COMC and it’s only April! We’re going to be attending more show in May, including The Spring Fever show in White Plains, NY, as well as the Sportcard and Memorabilia Expo in Toronto, ON. Watch for more details about those events as they get a bit closer.

Fasten your seatbelts for an exciting ride ahead – the rest of 2013 will include more events, more innovations to our website, and more ways to make collecting more rewarding and fun for everyone. Stay tuned to our blog, as well as Twitter and Facebook, for the latest news!
