What to Expect: Catalog & Price Suggestions

Thank you for contributing to our new sports card catalog!  You are a crucial part of building the most accurate, complete, and data-rich catalog the card-collecting community has ever had.  With just a week away from replacing all the catalog data on COMC.com with our new catalog and price suggestions, we want to let you know what to expect in the upcoming weeks.  We are working within a very tight time frame, there is still a lot of data to compile, and we need your help!

Our Plan of Action

We have tasked our internal experts with compiling difficult-to-find data and the crowd with notating what can easily be determined by looking at the card.  Learn more:

This Week

By April 1st we need to swap all of the data on COMC.com with our new catalog.  We will start replacing the data this week.  These changes will be rolled out incrementally, beginning in some less-represented categories (like bowling cards), so any potential issues will affect the fewest cards possible.  From there we will move on to more popular categories, such as basketball and hockey cards.

Due to our extremely tight time frame, the next few weeks will be a bit rocky. Some data will be missing. There will be errors, and there will be many opportunities for improvement.  We ask for your patience, support, and feedback as we work together, building the new catalog.  Learn more:

The Weeks To Come

With our new catalog, all cards will have at least a placeholder for data, but some cards will have missing data. You will be able to submit specific pieces of data that are missing or submit corrections for existing data. Our hard-working team will continue to burn the midnight oil creating sets and researching cards. The COMC Challenges will continue to run and add to our database, and this is the best way for you to help us get the most data quickly.  The catalog will be a work in progress.  Within a couple months we should have parity with the old data, and by the end of the year we expect to have better data than we have ever had before.

Price Suggestions

The beta version of our pricing suggestions will go live on April 1st.  At first it will only be available for the most commonly sold cards.  Over the coming months our catalog data will become more complete and the corresponding price suggestions will be extrapolated across less commonly sold items.

Sellers will automatically get access to the pricing suggestions for any items that they originally consigned with us.  To get full access to all pricing suggestions during this beta period, you must earn 20,000 total points in the COMC Challenges.

If you earn 20,000+ total points before the end of March, the “Founding Contributor” badge will be added to your username.

We have a long road ahead of us.  While March 31st is a huge transition, it is by no means the end of our mission.  For a long and detailed analysis of COMC’s ultimate vision for our catalog and price suggestions, we invite you to watch founder and CEO Tim Getsch’s presentation at the 2014 Las Vegas Industry Summit (25 minutes):

Once again, we cannot sufficiently state our gratitude to you, our community, and advocates. Your response has been amazing, and we wouldn’t be here without you!  Thank you for completing the Challenges, submitting suggestions, and participating in our community dialog here on our blog, twitter, and facebook page. This week we begin an epic journey together, and we are so grateful to have you by our side.

  1. Exciting stuff! Just to clarify, the suggested prices will be realistic suggestion, right? As things are now, BV prices are simply unrealistic. A realistic listing price often lands around 25% of the BV. I just want to see COMC offer a suggested price guide that can allow both sellers and buyers to faithfully follow.

  2. Maybe I’m not understanding things, but are you saying that football cards on the site won’t initially have data like player name after the switch? So it will be impossible for buyers to find our cards by searching for weeks/months?

    • That is correct. People will not be able to search for football player until sometime in mid to late April. They will be able to browse brands and look at the cards, but they won’t be able to search for players.

We were unfortunately not given enough time to replace all of the data, and March 31st is the last day we can leave the old data on the site.

Note to Sellers: We will not charge any storage fees for listings that are missing either the player information or the the detailed set information.

      • Thanks Tim – thats being fair

        On a side note
I noticed while doing hockey team challenges that a lot of Minor league teams are missing, misspelled with no way to correct
How can we help get that resolved?

        Rookies_n_Jerseys

      • Simply submit the correct spelling. This will cause your answer to show up as a write-in answer. We review all of the write-in answers. Grant is making sure that all of the Team related challenges are updated with the correct list of teams.

  3. I hope this new suggested price doesn’t limit what one can get for a card. Already plenty of lowballers out there. Don’t get me wrong, while I like good deals, cards need to have value otherwise the hobby will just tank as a whole.

  4. I agree with dirtydistance, i hope buyers do not look at suggested price and automatically want half of that. I generally sell cards at about 50-60 percent off bv. I hope the new system correlates. I did like the example of the pricing with the harper in the video though.

One question- will this catalog always be free for sellers?

    • Thank you dirtydistance and SJSCOUT. We are designing these suggestions with customer behavior in mind. Yes, we will allow sellers to see the Suggested List Price for any item that they consign with us. We see this as an integral part of our consignment service and it is built into the processing fees we charge. The Suggested Wholesale Price is a more advanced number that is only relevant to people wanting to blow out items very quickly. That might be a separate service that people can earn by playing the challenge and we might have an option where people can pay for it. During the beta testing phase, we will offer all of the price suggestions to anyone that has earned 20,000 points in the COMC Challenge.

  5. Do you have a timeline of when you expect to have the search functionality restored for each category?
For example – you mentioned that you are punting on football for the time being since it is not in season
and want to focus on things that are in season. Does this mean that the football cards will not be available
on Amazon for the time being for example? Without names, how will cards be found/be available for sale?

Just a question – I know you guys were put in a bind by beckett but it would be helpful to know

    Thanks
    Rookies_n_Jerseys

    • We expect to have player and team search functionality fully restored by the end of April. In May and June we will be working on more advanced search functionality such as the type of memorabilia.

Everything will stay up for sale, but items that are missing pieces of data will be harder to browse/search. We won’t charge storage fees for items that are missing key pieces of data.

  6. Hi, everyone. For more info on pricing specifically, skip to minute 16 in the last video in this post: Tim’s talk at the Industry Summit. We will be back with more information from the Engineering Team in regards to timeline and details of the impact to functionality.

  7. I think your strategy for pricing cards that you have large data pools for, as shown in your Bryce Harper example, is smart and innovative. I find your plan to expand the features that identify a card as another innovative idea. I think the idea of real time market changes, as you suggested with pitchers carrying a no hitter into the ninth, would be a tremendous benefit and revolutionary. If you can do that accurately I hope you guys are able to truly guard it and keep it from being “borrowed” by competitors. Lastly I personally appreciate you being so straight forward of the likely bumps in the road that are going to take place during the early stages of this transition.

With all that said I think you are going to miss your goal of relevant pricing in regard to rarer, pricier items in your present strategy. While I understand your desire to avoid manual pricing, the truth is you aren’t going to have enough subjects for a large variety of items. While your confidence rating is a great idea, if it’s moderate to low on every reasonably coveted autograph or short print run on cards you only get a few of on your site, those prices are close to worthless. I would think those type of cards are often the ones people purchase price guides for in the first place. I hope it all goes well

  8. One challenge suggestion – the card number challenge might go faster if the pages simply started with the “zoomed” image of the back of the card displayed – in many cases the print is quite small. Also, the comc logo also made the number hard to read in a couple of cases – don’t know if you can (or want to) remove that for challenges…

  9. I do not have alot of time or patience Tim , but I will try to do some challenges to help out somewhat.

  10. I have been doing the team “challenge” in baseball. It would really help things along much faster if the silly people who dumped all those minor league cards of players who never made it to the big leagues would identify their OWN cards. If they really wanted the outrageous prices they are asking (in hope the guy’s mother wants a card of her son) you would think it would be incentive enough for them.

Is there anyway the SELLERS could identify their own cards? They have a vested interest in having as much data points associated with their cards as possible. Them clicking on the Toledo Mud Hens for the 20 cards that have been sitting in the warehouse for the last three years, would serve everyone better.

Or maybe it is too late in the game to make such a program possible…

    Just my $ ,02

    • I would gladly pay someone to do it. In a way, that’s what is happening now. Where else would the money for doing the challenge be coming from?

(And please remember you only see what hasn’t sold yet. When these washouts become high school coaches or manage a Popeyes, people go out and buy their cards because they can. I would too. It’s pretty exciting. You can joke about how much hair they used to have, or what the card lists their weight at. The fun never ends.)

  11. Thank you for all the hard work everyone is doing to contribute. I am excited about the database change and its potential for all of us from buying to selling.

Just a quick question: Since the database is going to be delayed some for football, will it affect the processing times of football cards pending currently or new submissions? (Such as delays past the est. due date)

Thank you again for trying to make this transition smooth for us all.

  12. When all said and done. With all the user/customer input to help build this new system, will any of this information be available as a web service/API?

    • Someone said that this was possible/likely. As a fellow outsider, it seems logical that it would be available that way. For me, I can deal with the speed bumps in the short term because it will be so much easier for people to find everyone’s inventory elsewhere on the web in the long term.

  13. what about a way people with an account who purchase cards, to see what they have purchased so they dont have to look to see what they have already, like darken the card they have or put a check mark on the card?

  14. Pingback: Much of Site Unavailable Tomorrow | COMC Blog

  15. Pingback: We’re Back…in Card Show Mode! | COMC Blog

  16. I think sellers would be highly motivated to provide “missing information on their inventories”. But unless there is staffing to review and make the requested updates, it is a waste of time. Please let us know if staffing is actually available to review and make the updates.

  17. How do we make suggestions on incorrect data? I thought I saw how to do this somewhere but cannot seem to find it. For example, the database has 1994 Collector’s Choice Special Edition but the set is a 1995 set. Thanks!

  18. Hi Tim, great effort you and the entire team are making. Are you looking to map each and every trading card that’s out there, or just what’s traded through COMC? I am asking, because I have a bunch of sets of Spanish Panini basketball cards – which feature national but also American players – which I would happily provide information and scans on. Also of my other basketball card collections I have scans as well which I could provide no prob. Are there going to be any efforts made in the field of TTM and IP autos? Keep up the great work!

  19. I think Tim & Julia, INCLUDING ALL OF THEY’RE EMPLOYEE’S need a break, everything takes time, some people don’t have it, but hey they are providing a service, and a lot of people are complaining, let them relax for a week, WE ALL NEED TIM AROUND! with all the questions your going to give him a mental stress break down or a heart attack! I don’t mind, I really appreciate a lot of people on here, & have been buying a lot of cards of cardcoinmike, I would just like to say Thanks Pal. I don’t really know what else Tim, Julia, The Developers & the team could do to fix all this overnight, HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE YOU TO BUILD AN ENTIRE DATABASE FROM SCRATCH? IMO COMC will no doubt by pass FEEBAY. that is just my opinion, I’m NOT into drama or starting problems, I love all the people who have respect on here, but just realize, I have an idea, how about everyone donates a percentage of they’re sales for an entire month to send them all on vacation if your so worried about football……Life isn’t perfect! And Neither am I……BUT COMC IS BECOMING PERFECT, PERFECTION TAKES TIME! Thanks Tim, Julia, & The Rest of the COMC team! -MarkDaniels

    • You achieve perfection though the criticisms. You can get nowhere with constant applause.

  20. I understand it is difficult to set up “multi-player cards” correctly. How do you want this to be done: by naming the last names of the individual players (gets lengthy if more than three players) or by “title”. i.e. “Sluggers Supreme”, etc. How should we submit the “missing name” for these?

    • This. Maybe this is something to be addressed later (in COMC’s eyes), but I hope it does get addressed.

  21. As I’ve been working the Challenges over the past 2 weeks, I’ve kept having the same thought……”Why are so many completely worthless cards being sent in to COMC?” At .25/card, what is the point in sending a card in that will never sell for more than .04; if ever? What am I missing here?
I just completed a challenge that included a Stan Musial Puzzle piece from the 88 Donruss set. Are you kidding me? Is someone out there doing stuff like that just as a joke?

  22. I was thinking about how slow I do the challenges..Takes me 3-4 minutes, to do it in a little over a minute is awesome…Maybe there should be extra points when the system says you have made an error but actually you haven’t….Correctly mistakes should be as important as speed.

  23. I worked on the challenge up to April 1, but am now concentrating on EDITING the cards that I have in my inventory as a way of submitting data.
Is this a worthwhile effort? It seems lie more critical way of cleaning the data but only if the edited submissions are used. Please let me know.

    • Based on earlier comments, it appears they would prefer you to continue doing the challenges, but if you want to fix your own cards, there is a checkbox that lets you do yours first.

  24. I should get some points for entering card with serial numbers, some of cards hard to read because of COMC name cover the number, I have to click on the card to enlarge it so I can see clearly, I want to make sure I record the correct number, you should no penalty for people take more than 3 minutes to complete, I had try to enter 3 times (300 cards) and end up with 0 point 🙁

    • There’s no penalty for being slow. They would rather the data be good than fast. I hardly ever get mine done in under 3 minutes because I actually try to answer all the questions 🙂

      • THATS HOW YOU DO IT JOEL & TRUNG IT IS CALLED BEING A “TEAM PLAYER”
Kind of like when it’s called—- ” Taking ONE FOR THE TEAM!!??? We have all done that I am sure of it…. Correct & ZERO POINTS IS BETTER THAN RUSHING & PUTTING SOME UNHEARD OF NAMED PLAYER WHICH IS ACTUALLY AN NON LEGIT NO NAMED PLAYER ON MY PORT, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TAKEN THEY’RE TIME AND NO IM NOT YELLING IM JUST TIRED, GETTING READY FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO TRI-STAR SHOW WITH A TORN ACL THAT AFTER 15+ YEARS OF WALKING AROUND ON THE THING I GAVE IN & GOT A SHOT IN MY LEG, MAN I NEED AN ARMY TO HELP ME WITH WHAT I HAVE, IVE GOT OVER 60 FRAMED, AUTOGRAPHED PICTURES & JERSEYS NOT INCLUDING MY BOOTH I ALREADY PAID FOR THAT IS ANOTHER 3, of the 8ft tables & then 6 card display cases & ANOTHER WHO KNOWS HOW MANY DISPLAYS I NEED TO WHEEL IN, ALL I KNOW IS IM GOING TO MAKE SOME GOOD MONEY, IS IT ALRIGHT TO ASK TIM OR JULUA OR JOEL OR ANYONE ELSES FEEDBACK WHAT THWY WOULD HONESTLY PAY FOR A TEBOW 16×20″ & 20×24″ picture(s) I was thinking $3-$5, & IM SERIOUS! When I read earlier that you guys will now be accepting pictures, oh no, I’m going to load you up, when will the memorabilia option be available ? I have 700+ Baseballs I would like to drive up with a whole bunch of other stuff, btw Tim, I bought a/an truck & a camper shell just to drive loads during
The summer from San Francisco to Redmond. I’m 100% NOT KIDDING! This Wednesday my camper shell will be installed, then after the convention I’ll be making my first trip up there or whenever it is convenient with yourself & your team members. Who do I email about that? Any info would help on that, also thanks again everyone I appreciate the help!

      • Hey Mark! We’re not accepting any “memorabilia” right now, neither baseballs or photos or anything else. We’ve put all Beta Items programs on hiatus, until we get the catalog completed. If you still want to drive up and drop off some cards, you’re more then welcome to do so, just give us a call and make the arrangements. But, Steve and Geoff will be at the Tristar show, so you can save yourself a trip and drop your cards off with them…it is an option.

      • HEY MOE GO NINERS! I bet that is EXACTLY WHY Tim wants to PUT OFF on adding ALL OF THE FOOTBALL CARDS RIGHT NOW DUE TO COUGH BANDWAGON COUGH, HOW MANY PEOPLE JUMPED ON UP THERE?? LETS SEE, NO ONE FROM OUT OF STATE COULD BUY TICKETS, AWWW POOR BABIES, I WON’T CLOWN TOO HARD BUT ALL YOU SEA-CHICKENS CAN START TALKIN’ SMACK WHEN THEY CATCH UP, CAN THEY’RE FANS COUNT TO 5 Moe? Btw- I’m NOT “YELLING” when I use CAPS but a little tired from staying up & burning the midnight oil SINCE 6 A.M. YESTERDAY! I would put money on it that the site saw a/an EXTREMELY LARGE DUMP OF THEM AFTER THEY TALK TO THEY’RE IMAGINARY 12 FRIENDS… LOL, Moe, HOW MUCH Can those guys take back up there? You tell me, I WILL MAX THEM OUT! If I can know ASAP I’ll start getting that ready, I’ll have a Booth up there but not know EXACTLY how much free time I’ll have, If it makes it easier for them, & ALSO MAKES ME FEEL MORE AT EASE, a Due 2 some of the cards on this next submission are low serial #’d 1/1’s, Printing Plates, A TON of on card auto’s, SUPER Sick Sick Sick G/Used Dirty & STINKY j/k! #’d 1/2 Joe Flacco & Ray Rice with grass stains & BOTH of the Relic’s are that of the Nike Swooooosh… That is just what that card speaks to me.. I think my booths on the south side but i rep the west side, can’t you tell… I need sleep.. Anyways, Moe; For Example I could Very Easily Drive to they’re penthouse suite, isn’t that what Tim Comp’s his employee’s? I could drop off cards after the long show as I’m not all that cool with my cards sitting out in a vehicle that is in the ghetto 2miles up the hill, Tell them to try & go into the store up there on the hill, you walk in & all the employee’s are packing & I’m NOT talking about groceries! My ethnicity DOESNT fit in well up there, & I say that as most people know if they’re from the city. In which I tried to say that as best I could because I’m far from that type of person to drop those kinds of words or what not. I think I keep sending this message as I’ve dropped my phone twice & oh yeah I cannot go to bed I’ve got a doctors appointment later, I’m pulling this show on BOTH of my knee’s torn 100% except my left knee is unstable so I finally gave in the towel & am going to get shots in my left knee, which helps hence its bone to bone, oh & my wallet LOVES the cost Due 2 NO INSURANCE! I don’t count medical a.k.a. Free insurance from the State Of California which is for low income, I guess that’s what it is, The nurse gave me paperwork to fill out when I had broken my entire neck & back & Norbert has BEYOND helped me out through this past year! No wonder I had such a crappy day yesterday, it was the 1 year anniversary since the incident, walking into your own residence & someone you were friends with for 10+ Years burglarizing it & you catching them or hearing someone in the house after the fact that they attacked me from behind in which Immediately broken my C4,5,6,7 & my entire back, so I deal with all that & 4 bulging disc’s. When those guys see all of my stuff for sale they will wonder how I do it. Pure Willpower. I have a TON of stuff I’m bringing up there, may anyone point me in the right direction as to what would be a hot seller besides baseball right now obviously, such as a/an particular type of memorabilia ? IF POSSIBLE LET ME KNOW! It would be BEYOND greatly appreciated & oh yeah helpful! May I say I have a booth & it’s just me & my old man who is going to embarrass me as much as he can, As I’m the one who does EVERYTHING! Yes sir that is quite an operation I’ve got going, or can those guys make a trip to my house? I’m only 10-15mins at most unless there is traffic but I’m on the peninsula the same side of the bay as the cow palace. So did you also cut off submissions of Beckett ? & comics also? Cause I would like to submit a bunch of both IF THAT IS POSSIBLE, The sooner I know the limit I will let COMC or whoever it may need be what I will be handing off to them & how much. With the Beckett price guides to make it easier on you guys I sleeved every BECKETT with backboards and wrote the player the issue number & also the month & year.. So if that is possible all the years and info is/are already written on the back in sharpie & big enough where the submission part of COMC could knock out the scans and processing faster than normal or I would hope it would ATLEAST hope. I’m sorry about the essay & book style typing I’m hope I’m making sense because I sure am tired but if i fall asleep now I’m not going to wake up in time for my docs. I hope I don’t fall asleep driving I heard slapping yourself in the face works? LoL Thanks for your help MoE & hopefully everyone else doesn’t think I’m 2 much of a wreck but they’ll understand when they see me,
“Catch It While You Can” IS MARKDANIELS

      • Mark! Steve and Geoff tell me there’s no limit to the amount of cards people can drop off, so use your best judgement. We’re still taking comics, but we had to put the beta test for Beckett’s on hiatus for now.

        Now, go get some rest.

  25. It takes *DAYS* for staff to react and notice changes to seller inventory items. It will take weeks to get just numbers and names updated using the current “random presentation contests”. Why not use give sellers the ability to update items in their own inventory online and eliminate the middleman?

    • The whole point of crowdsourcing is the “herd immunity” you get when multiple users independently confirm the same information. Otherwise what is stopping me from suddenly have 300,000 1952 Mantles in my inventory?

      • How many people and days and how much crowdsourcing should it take to “validate and confirm” that 1958 Topps #10 is ‘Lou Burdette’ instead of “missing”? Why after two week has no standard been set for naming teams and special cards? Seems like technical gimmicks are being used as a substitute for common sense. Sellers are thinking people and not being used as such for the tedious task of building a catalog – something everyone wants as quickly as possible.

  26. How many people and weeks and how much crowdsourcing should it take to “validate and confirm” that 1955 Bowman 240 is ‘Johnny Pesky’ and not ‘John Peltz’ as the smart computer algorithm insists that it is?

  27. cant look up football player names – some forums on other site claim yall are going out of business — is that true ?

    • Hi…We’re not going out of business, and the issues with search functionality are temporary – if you can’t find a player by name, try searching by their team.

  28. I am considering sending in my first submission but am nervous my cards won’t be input correctly because of the current issues.. Is this cause for concern at all?

    • Hi; I can empathize with your concerns, especially if you’re new to COMC and seeing all the issues that have arisen since the transition on April 1st. However, we’ve come a long way in the last 5 weeks, our card catalog is getting better and stronger, day by day. We’re working on achieving 100% accuracy on all our card information, and we’re always going to be striving to ensure we get it right, every time.

It’s still a little shaky right now, but it’s temporary…when we’re done, we’re going to have one of the best, most dynamic card catalogs available.

  29. Where’s the fairness in this site? Many of my 7500 items are still missing things therefore it can not show up in a search. I paid .25 per card right? Then you ask me to edit my own card when details are missing to speed up things. Since listing the details of a card is half or so of the work how about 12 1/2 cents per correction on my end. But no way…

Your salvation…You will only give me a dollar LOL if I go through a thousand cards and give you the card number and initials.

Anyhow, I now have a bunch of cards that will not possibly sell and to boot you intend on charging me what kind of storage fee if they do not sell. I need a credit for your delay it’s been long enough to wait for this site to be up and running properly.

  30. I have given up. COMC has decided that algorithms are better than thinking people and published checklists when pairing names and numbers. Weeks go by and missing entries and wrong names persist. Maybe in a year the powers that be understand that crowd sourcing and algorithms are not the answer to every computer problem. And that “validating by unavailable staff is value subtracted”. Where is common sense?

    • COMC needs someone not connected to the site to give hard facts regarding the problems that exist. It appears many of the comments and answers here are by big time consigners to the site and customers who have become yes men to the cause. I have 7500 items with only dribbles of sales. And I am the lowest on many of the items. Additionally, I didn’t see any comc people with a booth at the last show in San Francisco. Where’s the promo to get new buyers? Get Beckett book prices back on board and stop trying to recreate the wheel.

      • You must have been blind because I had a booth right across from JSA’s bootj

  31. Is there any way that we can contact COMC with questions during this transition period about cards that do not have complete descriptions? I am wondering as a buyer who wants to make sure that I am purchasing the correct item. It is hard sometimes to tell between refractors and chrome just by the pictures. Thank you.

  32. If there’s a picture sometimes it says refractor on the back although Early refractors and some brands do not mark them at all.

    • I am just a user. I noticed it’s been 2 days. It’s kinda funny how users are answering questions and not anyone connected to the so called team.

      • That’s how blogs tend to work. The only reason I answer is to cut off useless answers before they happen. It’s fun to guess, but it can mislead people.

I really wish Bowman Platinum would mark their refractors. There are so many reasons to hate that set, but that one is near the top for me.

  33. So far, I am satisfied with the work being done on the catalog, but, subsequently, I am really concerned with the lack of effort to complete customer submissions. Currently, I have a batch that was due 5/21/14 that is now entering into week 11 without any hope for when it will be completed. I also have 2 other batches in the queue and have no faith that these will be done on time. Are we as customers going to continue to be disappointed by the lack of customer service relative to submissions? Are others concerned about this as well?

    • Hi, we are still working on submissions and working through the backlog, as quickly and efficiently as possible. While you may believe you’re not seeing the effort, it is there and we are working towards getting caught up. It’s been a rough few months for COMC and the COMC Nation, but when all is said and done, we are all going to be the better for it. We thank you for your patience in this.

    • I WISH THAT SOMEDAY ILL
GET AN ACTUAL “ANSWER”ABOUT IF &/OR WHEN THEY’LL HAVE AUTHENTICATION FROM/BY OTHER COMPANIES….FOR EXAMPLE PSA FOR THOUSANDS OF VINTAGE CARDS I WOULD LOVE TO SEND IN, FOR NOW IVE DECIDED TO GRADE ONLY A SELECT & BEYOND EXTREMELY SMALL AMOUNT THAN MY NORMAL 20-30CARDS PER GRADING PERIOD ALTHOUGH THEY’RE SO BACKED UP THAT IT IS SAYING I WONT BE GETTING THE CARDS BACK UNTIL SEPTEMBER 24TH,2014 & THEY ARE BASEBALL CARDS! WE ALL KNOW THAT THE CUBS WONT BE TAKING HOME THE WORLD SERIES TROPHY….ITS GOTTEN WORSE HENCE I WANT TO DRIVE A BUNCH OF CARDS, COMICS & BECKETT’s UP THERE FROM THE SF BAY AREA 13 MILES NORTH & WOULD LOVE TO DROP THEM OFF,
AS WELL AS SEND IN A TON OF HIGH END CARDS ALTHOUGH IVE JUST HAD TO COME TO THE REAL FACTOR & REALIZATION THAT NOT UNTIL THIS ENTIRE CATELOG &/OR BUGS & ERRORS ARE 100% FULLY COMPLETED IM JUST GOING TO RUN PORT SALES, ITS SAD THAT IT HAS GOTTEN DOWN TO US AS SELLERS THAT TO EVEN “THINK” OF SELLING ANY CARDS PERIOD THAT YOU 100% MUST/HAVE TO RUN A/AN “PORT SALE” SO IM SPENDING $3 EVERYDAY ON TOP OF THE FEE’s LET ALONE IM SO PISSED FROM SELLERS ALLOWING TO SUBMIT THE CARDS THAT WOULD NEVER SELL OTHERWISE AS THAT OTHER HOT PROSPECT OR PLAYER & IVE SPENT IN UPWARDS OF $50 DUE TO THE WATERMARK COMC HAS IMPRINTED, IM NOT HAPPY I FEEL YOU 100% !

      • Sorry Mark, I thought we had addressed this issue before – we currently have no plans to incorporate authentication from any other company. Sorry for making you wait on that.

  34. Can someone go in and do a mass update on the 1998 Upper Deck 10th Anniversary Preview cards? They are all listed with ??? in the description. I did submit 1 edit request but I’d think someone at COMC could more efficiently do a mass update on these cards.

    • Update

There are 10th Anniversary Preview and 10th Anniversary Preview Retail cards. The Retail version say “Preview Edition” on the side of the card.

    • Can some1 tell me where I have to go to get into the fantasy hockey that they’re was supposed to be a contest with MONTHLY PRIZES & A CERTAIN AMOUNT AT THE END OF THE SEASON CAUSE I HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THAT SINCE THE SEASON HAD JUST STARTED AND MY NAME ON THERE IS “DoTheSharksChomp” YET IVE GOT JONATHAN QUICK AS MY GOALIE & A BUNCH OF PLAYERS FROM THE KINGS ON MY TEAM! ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED! THANKS 2 WHOEVER WILL BE REPLYING TO THIS IM SURE NO ONE AT COMC WILL BE SO ILL SAY THANK YOU IN ADVANCE TO JOELS HIT SHOW OR ROOKIES AND JERSEYS! Peace – Mark

      • Heh. I am sure they will respond tomorrow, or you could call them. I think I had the second-worst team in the fantasy pool. About what you would expect from a Florida Panthers fan. I haven’t heard of anyone winning anything, but I don’t know that I would hear anything either.

      • I haven’t heard of ANY UPDATE PERIOD ALL SEASON! I’m a San Jose SHARKS fan but chose the LA QUEENS JONATHAN QUICK AS MY GOALIE AND DIDNT CHANGE MY TEAM ALL YEAR EVEN WHILE HE WAS HURT!
WHY YOU MAY ASK? CAUSE I DONT HAVE TIME FOR FANTASY SPORTS & WELL THIS/THE LEAGUE WAS MY FIRST “FANTASY TEAM/LEAGUE! IM ALMOST POSITIVE THOUGH IM UP THERE IN RANKING MY NAMES DO THE SHARKS CHOMP OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THAT NATURE, AND THE QUEENS ARE ABOUT TO PULL IT OFF! THERE WAS “SUPPOSED” 2 BE MONTHLY WINNERS AS WELL AS WINNERS AFTER THE END OF THE SEASON & THAT THE WINNERS WOULD BE REWARDED WITH STORE CREDIT BUT I HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT THAT WHOLE LEAGUE THE ENTIRE YEAR WELL SINCE BECKETT SCREWED EVERYTHING UP MOST EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PUT ON THE BACKBURNER !

      • Hey Mark…the contest fell by the wayside with the card catalog transition on April 1st. Things got so crazy here, we never did announce the season ending winners, nor did we determine what the final prizes would be. So, yea…we dropped the ball on that one.

And, the contest results were only for the regular season, it never meant to include the playoffs.

      • I can understand, although if I ended up winning then THAT SUCKS! All good! Are you guys caught up for submissions? I’m going to be putting together a whole bunch of high dollar prospects I’ve got a/an die cut 32/50 BYRON BUXTON the same one I had sold here on COMC, I found it a couple of months back on FEEBAY, CRAZY! The EXACT SAME SERIAL NUMBERED CARD & everything so of course I had purchased it & bought it back SO THAT I COULD SEND IT IN, after this weekend of selling pictures @ ATT&T PARK IM GOING TO SEND IN A HUGE SUBMISSION WITH A BUNCH OF BOWMAN 2014 hits & the super fractor
I hit, as well as some crazy 23/25 bloodlines dual auto of Ryan and Steve Garvey & some other crazy 1/1 pulls since I’ve been on fire as well as an JOSE ABRAEU jumbo box top loader 68/99 & on card auto, I DONT USE FEEBAY! I SELL THROUGH NO ONE BUT COMC! THATS NOTHING BUT LOVE RIGHT THERE

  35. Can some of the Nascar cards be partially edited with the correct year? I’m trying to find certain people that were in the 90’s sets, but are listed as 2015. It can’t be correctly done when I search “oldest cards first”.
