COMC in the Press!

Ryan Cracknell of Non-Sport Update recently interviewed us for NSU’s blog.  In this month’s print edition of Non-Sport Update he has also written up a review of his experience with COMC!  Some excerpts from his article:

COMC is great for old-school set builders like me. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good autograph, but I’m usually looking for a couple of generic singles to fill out a nine-pocket page or plug some holes. I spent much of last  summer doing just that with my original Star Wars sets I always wanted to complete. Now I’m a couple of cards away, down from a couple hundred. I’m chugging along on lots of other sets as well, both new and old.

While individual cards may be cheap on other sites where many sellers can list their items, shipping costs can be a deal breaker. Having to order from several different locations means you have to pay postage several times over. I’d much rather put that money towards filling more holes in my collection. Because COMC stores all of their cards in one place, you’re only paying one fee. From a percentage basis, the postage savings of buying in bulk from COMC versus [other site] can add up quickly.

For me, COMC is kind of like using Amazon for movies and books. They’ve got a massive selection, fair prices and tons of convenience, particularly for collectors like me who are looking for cheap singles. Of course, nothing beats a good local shop or card show, but COMC is a formidable alternative.

Thanks, Ryan, for taking the time to check us out! Non-Sport Update’s Feb/Mar issue is on sale now online and in select Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million stores as well as comic and card shops.

“Hot List” Processing Special!

Hello collectors and sellers! COMC is offering a new special that we’re excited to tell you about – we’re calling it The COMC Hot List and we’re hoping it’ll put a little extra excitement into your COMC experience.

2011 Playoff Contenders #227B - Colin Kaepernick no logo AU/250* [Mint] - Courtesy of COMC.comWe’ve asked our passionate team members: who are the hottest players, teams, and card sets currently on the market? We’ve boiled the list down to an even ten, and added a bonus two in honor of the Super Bowl:

The Hot List
Colin Kaepernick
Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard
Kevin Durant autographs
2011-12 & 2012-13 Panini XRC redeemed (Basketball)

2010-Present Bowman Chrome serial # /50 or lower (Baseball)
Baltimore Ravens
San Francisco 49ers

Hot List Special = One Week -> One Day
Starting today, each player, team, or set on the Hot List will qualify for our “Hot List Special” processing. With this service, you will receive One Day processing at the One Week price. That is $0.50 per raw trading card and $0.75 per graded, encased, or jumbo card.

How to Submit Hot List Items for Consignment
* Clearly write “Hot List Special” on the outside of the package
* $5 minimum batch fee (We recommend submitting 10+ items.)
* 200 item maximum per week
* Must be post marked by February 6th, 2013
* Must be mailed to our US address
(Our Canadian warehouse only supports One Month service currently.)
* Submissions with non-Hot List items will be downgraded to One Week service

You are welcome to submit multiple batches with different service levels in the same package, but you must clearly label each service level you would like.

The most exciting thing is that this Hot List special is a trial run of an ongoing feature we’d like to offer. Soon, we’ll be posting on Facebook and Twitter and ask you, our followers: who do you think is “Hot”? Based on your input and our team’s research we’ll put together a list of players/teams/sets for future Hot Lists. Together we can heat up the site for everyone!

Thanks!
COMC

Canadian Warehouse Open for Submissions

It’s been a long time coming; with lots of back and forth negotiations, tension-filled days and nights, and plenty of hand wringing and hair pulling included, but finally…

The NHL lockout is over!

With all sides settled on a new long-term Collective Bargaining Agreement, the dust has settled and it’s time to drop the puck! And we at COMC couldn’t be more excited!

As the NHL gets back to work, our Canadian location is ready to accept batches for consignment! Since we’ve just opened and are still getting things finalized, we’re currently only able to offer our One Month service through our Canadian warehouse. For now, One Day and One Week submissions must be submitted directly to our US warehouse.

Please send your shipments to:
