9,000,000 Stats

2010 Topps Series 2 Attax Code Cards #15 - Jon Lester - Courtesy of COMC.com
I just bought item #9,000,000 from bonds0128! We are going to have to do a contest for item #10,000,000. Leave a comment with your suggestion for a contest.

I also noticed that we recently crossed 250 million total page views over the past 5 years. Wow! A quarter of a billion page views… what a ride.

Q3 Stats

Notice the spike in cards added this quarter thanks to the the 5th Anniversary special. We have increased our quarterly processing capacity over the past 4 years from 115K to 1.17M. That is 10x the capacity. Not an easy feat. We have an awesome processing team that just keeps getting better. A special thanks to Jade Aspiras and the Identification Team for many long nights.

It is also good to note that while we have increased our processing capacity by 10x over the past 4 years, the demand on our shipping team has grown by 13x. That is a great sign. It means that the demand from buyers is growing faster than the supply from sellers. Hence sellers are getting better sales rates today than they did 4 years ago.

  1. Nice to see. To encourage faster processing levels, the submitter of Card 10,000,000 should get to submit 100 cards at the same service level that Card 10,000,000 was submitted at — for free.

  2. The amount of cards that have flooded the site in 3Q is unreal. Not COMCs fault as Topps produces more Mark Hamburger autos than Byrce Harper autos. Seems like most new sellers are using COMC to try and sell $1 GU and Autos lying around they were never able to move on Ebay. The problem is everyone else has the same idea and the supply on site is outrunning traffic/demand so it becomes a race to the bottom.

    • Arbitrage remains a lucrative niche for many users of the site. If the prices here get too low, people come along and nab them to sell via other channels (Sportlots, eBay, etc.). It’s no different than what happened at ThePit 10 years ago.

      • Yes a lot of great deals to be had. Especially when those sellers racing to the bottom will usually accept an additional price cut through best offer.

  3. Totally unrelated but I just wanted to vent..starting to get kinda sick and tired of people selling ports who don’t counter an offer..they just reject it once someone else buys the port..hint, hint..I might be willing to pay more than your best offer..some people are sooo smart :p

    • Well the changes finally pushed me out and I listed my port for sale today. Hopefully someone with more time can make money off my inventory.

  4. Kudos sto COMC. I had a ETA of 10/29 of a 4 week card listing and you guys had it done by 10/25! Thanks!

  5. Ditto to what 77ncaachamps said, I think mine came in the 24th, I sent them in before I knew about the changes and was pretty nervous about selling on the site, but have already snuck in a few sales. Awesome job scanning and posting Comc.
